Investing in Our Children
We called our organization Lifelong Impact because this is what we do. We invest in the lives of children for as long as needed until they’re able to move on and create their own independent future.
Education
We call our work “investing” because we believe that giving underprivileged children an education is truly investing in their lives and their future. We believe that education is the way to help them for life. The dividends of our investment are the lifelong skills they learn, their future support and contributions to their family and communities.
Education is our main program. All our children live with their parents. We support their education by paying their tuition and following up on their progress directly with the schools. We currently work with four schools . We have personal relationships with each principal. They help us with discounts and feedback on our students. Although we ask all our children and their parents to maintain a grade point average of 70% or above, there are those who struggle and need time to adjust and learn how to study. There are also those whose desires are more toward technical school where most of them have excelled.
Tutoring
We have a few students who struggle in school and can’t concentrate or study at home because of their poor living situation where five or six siblings live in one-bedroom home. This makes studying and doing homework near impossible. In this situation we try to find them a place to study and provide them with a one-on-one tutor to help them with their homework or any further lesson explanation that they might need. The one-on-one tutoring has proved extremely effective in helping our children succeed in school.
